When we first introduced this cheesy garlic bread recipe, it was an instant hit. Green Thunder, our mature Cheddar with roasted garlic and herbs, is the perfect partner for a crusty baguette, softened butter and plenty of freshly crushed garlic. Baked until golden, it makes an unbeatable snack or side dish.

METHOD

  1. Mix together the softened butter with the grated Green Thunder cheese and garlic, season with black pepper to taste.
  2. Cut through the baguette every 2cm or so, leaving the slices attached at the base so the loaf stays together.
  3.  Spread the cheese and butter mixture into each cut, on both sides, leaving a little to spread on top.
  4. Wrap the stuffed baguette in foil and bake for 15-20 minutes at 190°C, fan 170°C, gas 5. Open up the foil package for the last 5 minutes of baking to allow the bread to crisp up.
