An ancient tradition passed down through generations, truffle extraction is carried out by highly skilled hunters and their keen-nosed dogs. Italy’s Black Summer truffle-hunting season falls between May and September, when they carefully unearth these “black diamonds of the kitchen” from beneath holm oaks and hazelnut trees. Our experts then select only the finest truffles – handpicked for their earthy, nutty flavour – to create Truffle Trove.
Using Snowdonia Cheese Co’s bespoke recipe, our expert cheesemakers handcraft Truffle Trove by infusing our award-winning extra mature Cheddar with the finest Italian Black Summer truffles.
Black Summer truffles, treasured all over the world for their delicate, earthy notes of hazelnuts and wild mushrooms, balance perfectly with our deeply savoury extra mature Cheddar.
